Recently, our co-founder, Stacy Pellettieri, was interviewed on PIX11, a local TV channel in New York. The topic of the conversation was an important one – the way that COVID-19 has affected our children’s ability to learn, even among 2nd graders that may not have been in school back when the pandemic first hit. As a result, many are showing signs of anxiety, academic difficulties, executive function disorder, and more. Watch:
As Stacy emphasized, the pandemic affected the ability of parents everywhere to teach their children valuable skills like socio-emotional learning, patience, and more. We’re seeing now that children today are further behind than they should be with their age group, and that the school systems not only locally but nationally need to be aware and integrate more tools and learning experiences into their curriculum as a result.
